I have a nest of pine tables that have a wax finish they are badly marked. How can I re wax them and get them marks out? I don't want to get rid of them they were made by my dad for my grandma so have sentimental value.

Is it easy to rewax pine furniture?

Watching with interest, I have two big pine bits of furniture that could do with a tidy up.

You will need to sand them back to remove the marks. I used an electric sander to take the old wax off and this also removed marks. Then use fine sand paper to take the roughness away. I would always use a sanding sealer followed by a good quality finishing wax applied with 0000 steel wool and buff to a sheen with a soft cotton cloth.
I use Briwax sanding sealer and wax it gives a lovely finish and comes in clear along with a variety of different wood colours.

There are loads of tutorial videos on U Tube

We have an old pine table that we take outside and sand/re-wax every year. For the next few weeks I am slightly precious about the finish ..... then normal service resumes Grin.

Very easy to do but the wax smell does make you feel a bit high ime if you do it inside.

I have never used a sanding sealer - just briwax p7, medium brown, 25 years on the depth of colour is fab even with sanding every year.
