What vinegar do you use in your washing machine?

I have read many times to use white vinegar to clean your machine. Which one exactly do you buy?

I have seen some distilled malt vinegar (would the smell be too strong?), some organic white whine vinegar (sounds far too pricey), I don't know why one to buy!

Tia mums.

I just use the cheap brown vinegar, you can't smell it after the machine has finished.

Can't help with your question but it sounds like an interesting idea! What are you supposed to do?

I think you just put the vinegar in the draw, and regularly run a 90 C empty machine to clean all the soap residue so the machine stays clean and fresh.
I just wasn't sure which vinegar to use.

Apparently you can also add vinegar in the conditioner compartment when you run a normal wash, but I am more reluctant to try that one

I used to use the distilled malt vinegar. It worked just fine and didn't leave a strong smell. I also used it in the conditioner drawer. It helps remove bad smells from clothes.

Now I buy 5L bottles of white vinegar from Amazon and use that instead because it's MUCH cheaper.

Also great for killing weeds that grow up between pavers, btw.

I buy big jugs of white vinegar from eBay - works out loads cheaper!
