I had a Kenwood fitted in July. The hinge on the door broke in September and I've been trying to get it fixed ever since. Finally, Curries have decided to let me swap it for a replacement. However, I do not want another flippin' Kenwood. I'm planning to ask for a credit note and add some more money to it to get something decent.

Recommendations please..... I've had a zanussi before and the front knob dropped off (oooh er missus)

Avoid Hotpoint. Bosch are good.

NannyL · 26/11/2006 15:41

agree with avoid hotpoint...

the hotpoint one where ui work is the worst dishwasher i (or my bosses) ahve EVER come across.... quite simply it doesnt clean the stuff in it!

Bosch are great

(saying that at my parenst house the hot point dishwsher is now over 22 years old and the best dishwasher i have EVER used in my life!)

have used loads of dishwashers and bosch and miele are my favourites!

idontlikecrusts · 26/11/2006 15:44

We have a Miele (in the house we rent) looks good but it is shit.

loopity · 26/11/2006 16:23

Another recommendation for Bosch (had one in our last house - cleans really well and very quiet). Now have a Whirlpool one which I don't think is even half as good as the Bosch.

NomDePlume · 26/11/2006 16:27

I had a Smeg in my old house, it was great. We now have a brand new built in Indesit and it is shit. It leaves silt all over the glasses (despite being topped up with rinse aid and salt) and it is too small for our dinner plates. We have had to buy smaller everyday ones to fit in the bloody thing. DH wants to swap it out in the new year.

Smeg - Thumbs UP

Indesit - Thumbs DOWN

I have a Bosch and it's great

have also had a Hotpoint and that was good too.

donnie · 26/11/2006 16:31

bosch rocks.

fizzbuzz · 26/11/2006 16:42

I'll second that!

foxtrot · 26/11/2006 16:45

i have a bosch, it was only a few quid more than some of the less reliable ones.

themoon66 · 26/11/2006 18:17

Right... that's it... a Bosch. It's about £100 more than the Kenwood, but sounds worth the money. Thanks for all your help

I have had Bosch and Miele and the Miele wins hands down

idontlikecrusts · 26/11/2006 19:45

What's wrong with our Miele?!

I was delighted when we moved in and found we had a Miele aplliance. My mum has Miele bits and bobs so I know they are generally an excellent brand.

katiebirdie · 26/11/2006 19:55

another vote for bosch here. inlaws bought it for us as a moving in present. i thought it was a waste of money and would have rathered wine but my god its my favourite appliance! (god thats bloody sad eh!)

foxtrot · 26/11/2006 20:06

everytime we have moved house it's been the first appliance i have plumbed in, i love them to bits.

Stockingsofdinosaurs · 04/12/2006 12:24

MFI's ownbrand 'Diplomat' - no no no.
Bosch - hurray! I hadn't realised how clean the dishes were supposed to be until I got one.
