Removing electrical tape glue from glass

kah22 · 20/08/2015 10:11

I've just about finished a new renovation to my home. While the renovation was proceeding a large X with electrical insulating tape was placed on a sliding door - to stop people waking into it.

Cleanup time is just around the corner and I'm wondering how do I get rid of the glue residue left on the door

I've tried ordinary window cleaner but that hasn't made any difference. I know I can use the likes of a Stanley blade, but I don't want to just in case of scratches

Any suggestions

Acetone?

Sugar soap?

WD40, we just used it to bring gaffer tape glue off a window.

Try white spirit - works on getting label glue off jam jars.

Alchol hand gel will work too.

Sticky Stuff Remover.

De solve-it pre wash spray also removes sticky stuff

Just had to do nearly the exact same as you. I cleaned the window with white vinegar first, then used nail polish remover on the bits that were still there, then went over it again with the vinegar.

Think I'll give the vinegar a try and back it up with WD40
