Washing machines with no manual filter?

Need to buy new washing machine this weekend when we move. We've been looking in John Lewis and most of the models we are looking at don't have the manual filter. Our last two machines have (including current) and having horses, I've had to clean them out at least a couple of times of each machine (which have generally lasted us 4/5 years each(, generally having built up an accumulation of hair and bits of hay etc!

So just a bit nervous about buying one where I can't manually clean it. Will it get clogged up with yuck or do they self clean? Current model self cleans but have had to still clear the filter on that!

I didn't think there was a washer on the market at the moment that didn't have a filter? I know a lot of brands used to not have them years ago, but they all do now I think.

If it's a Zanussi or John Lewis own brand machine you're looking at, they have filters under a flap inside the drum. Still there, just in a different place.

Thank you rabbit that's good to know!! Yes it was a zanussi we were looking at. The last two machines were also zanussi and we actually stood in John Lewis tipping the machine forward to see if it was at the back, not thinking to look in the drum....
