Hi all. I have not had a very good last 24 hrs. The WM thought it would leak last night! I went out into the kitchen and found it flooded. and the water was still going into the WM. I had to move everything in the kitchen to get all the water. I did not finish until 11:30 last night. Only good thing is that I now have a very clean kitchen floor. I got someone out to look at the WM and its f&%^&$. Its going to cost too much to repair it. So now its a new one. Thats the xmas money now gone It get delivered next Thursday next week.
I have not done and FLYing today. I went to Bath to get a WM and then to school to get DSs the day has just gone.

I hope everyone else are ok. DC are eating an early dinner then it a bath and then bed. DS1 is being very pushy today. Keeps hitting DS2.

Thanks Ivor. The more I read on the net, the more I'm convinced the cat's bought fleas in - even though he's not been scratching. I feel sick. DH is getting some spray for the carpets on his way home but I'm not sure we'll be able to use it because I'm pregnant - eek!

We will be ok. Ruby, Ivor, tortoise. Its only DC and HNtree and myself anyway. Soapbox has done a very good job in helping others. I was going to Offer help but I wont be able to now though

DC will have loads of little bits to open on Christmas day and I an sure HNtree will give them something big.

Its just why does everything happen around Christmas time. If it went wrong after Christmas then I could have got it cheaper in the sales, but I cant go without a WM until then.

I am half trying to help dd1 with her homework...she is very bossy!!! Keeps telling me "I know what to do...no..you do it like this"!
Her class teacher pulled me to one side to say she had started her off with reading books....she is the only one from Derbyn (reception) who has been given one.(she's just 5} Year 1 children have all started this week and my little clever clogs has one too!!!! She is already on book 3!
I am so worried sometimes about moving to Wales..she obviously is quite bright...I just wish I knew welsh to help her along!

luda The wine I bought and like is called Vina la rosa Estate grown La Capitana Barrel Reserve 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile. It was £2 off, down to £4.99. I don't usually pay more than £3.50 a bottle but I like to buy some nice bottles to give away for Christmas and I like to try them out first. At least, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Oh, if you buy 6 there is a 5% discount. I bought 5 and realised my mistake when I got to the car (ds had been yakking to me at the checkout so I hadn't seen the writing on the box and the checkout operator hadn't mentioned it to me incase I should want to get another) and when I went straight away to customer services, they said it was a no-go to buy another and get the discount. I think I'll get in touch and say that they should improve their customer service.

I wouldn't worry about the Welsh, luda. To reassure you, most of the kids in my children's secondary school which is a Welsh medium school have very English speaking backgrounds. I know a girl whose parents don't speak Welsh and she went to the local Welsh medium primary and Welsh medium secondary up to GCSE level, then to the English medium secondary for A levels and now she's in either Oxford or Cambridge (I can never remember which) so she has done very well despite not speaking Welsh at home. There is support available and you can always call on me as my dh, ds and dd are fluent.

OK, whole house sprayed with flea spray too so if I am right they shouldnt last long. Found an article saying ok to use when pregnant (excpet first 12 weeks). To be on safe side all the windows are open which means the house is bloody freezing!!!!

Tomorrow will be like a launderette as i have 3 lots of bedding, pillows and duvets (if they'll fit) to wash.....

Hi Ladies,

Some of you might remember a little while ago I posted that I had miscarried yet again. Well due to various problems the Doc sent me for a scan and we got the shock of our lives, I'm actually 6 weeks pregnant . I'm on light duties for a while as I am still bleeding. They don't know why I am bleeding but it is not from near the foetus so it seems all is ok.

Sorry haven't kept up with the threads but hope every is well. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up from now.

satinshoes When we first moved in this house we had to de-flea as when we looked at this house we were sure that we had got fleas from here. XP2 got some smokey things. and he set 1 off in every room. The house was empty apart from the carpets that were here. (cr@p ones and xp2 got all new ones after we moved in.) And it was left for 1 day all closed up and the next day he had every window open. It was freezing the day he had the windows open, he was trying to paint the lounge but gave up as it was too cold but he wanted to make sure all the smokey stuff was out of the house. He did hoover everywhere and cleaned as much as he could though, so the day was not wasted.

Oh tortoise Glad your meeting went ok today, has many more been said about Christmas day yet?

Hazelnuts I won't try to persuade you more and I don't know how many givers there were in a ratio to the number of receivers but there were so many people wanting to do something for another MNer, no matter how small. I'm not putting that at all well, I fear. It is up to you, of course.

I'm trying to give up a couple of things at once, btw and am posting them here to make me keep to them. No 1 is sugar in tea and coffee. No 2 is I'm a celebrity. Last night after switching the PC off at 10pm I had a relaxing bath before bed. I didn't do any ironing earlier and I measured my ironing pile and it is hip height! Yikes!

Bugger its snig knew i'd spell it wrong!

I haven't converted her to FLY yet. I'm sure she will once she sees how good we all do.

Right. Have been lazing around on MN and e-bay for far too long this evening. Will now shift myself to doing something. Ticking off a few receipts perhaps. I have, to be fair, been watching one of dd's teachers on a Welsh reality tv show at the same time. I liked her before from seeing her a tiny bit in school and I like her even more now. Coincidentally, dd was watching another of her teachers on a Welsh tv programme earlier but I didn't watch that one. Isn't it funny that Wales is so small, you can't go anywhere or do anything without someone recognising you!
