Would you put embroidered pillow case in washing machine

So Ds has thrown up all over everything in the whole house. Including a hand embroidered pillow case, would you put it in washing machine I have a hand wash function that you can put on a cold wash but not sure if this will ruin it.
But equally not sure me swooshing it round in the sink will get sick out

A cold wash won't be any good for getting sick out. I'd leave it to soak in warm water with bio powder and then stick it on a warm hand wash cycle with a low spin

If putting it in the washer, I'd turn inside out and / or put inside a laundry bag or similar, to avoid snagging the embroidery in the wash. It would be fine doing this in a gentle wash with appropriate temperature for the type of fabric. However, not sure if that's going to be great for getting the sick out.
I'd say given the circumstances, wash by hand in the sink.
