Its our saviour! especially for xmas and birthdays...they don't just do clothes either....they do home furnishings, toys, electrical goods...brill and they deliver promptly too.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 22/11/2006 15:16

ParanoidAndroid Its just a general meeting tomorrow to check all is ok.
No call from sol yet.If we can get agreement then we will goto court to get the judge to decide.Ive no idea what he would say!

DD2 awake now.And DD1 has tipped duplo everywhere.

Quootiepie · 22/11/2006 15:25

ive done abit of clothes sorting - im not being very ruthless Need to do a whole basket load still, then all my underware (I still have some size 10s lurking at the back of the drawer!). I have so many clothes that im keeping "as painting clothes"! lol

Dont think shes lost in there, shes been in there all morning! I sooooooo want to go in and be nosey, but the sensible part of me is leaving well alone!

satinshoes · 22/11/2006 15:34

hi all,

had a nap with DD this afternoon. No Flying done but house looking remarkably presentable

peegeeweegee · 22/11/2006 15:40

Quootie - at your MIL!! The thought of my MIL in a bisexual chatroom sends shivers down my spine!!

Luda - those people commenting about your house are just feeling inadquate about theirs. Honestly!
I am still not in a routine and still not on top of the dust/clutter/mess/dirt.
Sigh.... maybe one of these days my inner housekeeping fairy will emerge...

Tort - I hope you get christmas sorted, you deserve to have your ds's.
Hazel - been thinking about you and your tree. Hope you are feeling okay, and I hope Tree gets her house worries sorted soon. Moving house is a nightmare...

On the housekeeping front, well, have dusted diningroom and that's it... groan....
Have no motivation whatsoever, what is wrong with me...

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 22/11/2006 15:42

Hi satin. Glad you are taking it easy.

Peegee Dusting is better than nothing. I haven't done much today either!

ludalightsandlanterns · 22/11/2006 15:52

peegee, thanks, I feel much better now...I think I would rather be known for a tidy house than an untidy one

by the way...dusting is good!

I have ordered Kim and Aggies book but it still hasn't arrived yet...can't wait for it to come!!!(I really have become obsessed haven't I )

ludalightsandlanterns · 22/11/2006 15:53

oh...Satinshoes...how long have you got to go now???
I keep meaning to ask...not long is it?

ludalightsandlanterns · 22/11/2006 15:57

Quootie....I would just let your MIL get on with it...I think when you hit a certain age very strange things happen...
My dad and his wife have recently become nudists

satinshoes · 22/11/2006 16:26

luda - 3 weeks today. DD was 8 days early so i'm keeping fingers crossed this one might be too

OP posts:
ludalightsandlanterns · 22/11/2006 17:31

oooh satinshoes...how exciting! two of mine were early too.......
My dd1 was 10 days early
My ds was 11 days early
My dd2 was 12 days late!!!!

I think dd1 came out early as she was born the day after 9/11...I think my state of shock bought on labour!!

ds was just plain irritating...I went into labour the day before we were supposed to go away for the weekend (all excited too as I was going to get my hair cut)!

dd2 just wouldn't come out...but then the night before I was supposed to be induced she arrived all on her own.(I think the worry of being induced did the trick!)

So...if you get a shock...or get excited...or worried...watch out!

satinshoes · 22/11/2006 17:40

lol. thanks luda.

bugger bugger bugger.

my 'jacket potatoes' for dinner have just exploded all ove rthe oven!!!

OP posts:
ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 22/11/2006 17:59

Oh dear satin. Thats not good. Hope you can still eat whats left of the spud!
Only DD2 was born early.1 week early. DS1 spot on time,DS2 few days late,DD1 week + late.

peegeeweegee · 22/11/2006 18:46

oh Satin, how are the exploding potatoes? Could you serve them up as something exciting - Potato Explosion perhaps??

Urgh, just noticed my keyboard is all sticky... that must mean i am spending far too much time on here and not cleaning...

Nudist parents? How amazingly fab and liberal!! My parents have not changed really... shame, they could do with lightening up a bit..

IvortheEngine · 22/11/2006 19:03

Hello all! Nothing much done today as I've been working. Am going to sort out the kitchen now that tea is over.

luda Have you seen our local weekly paper today? There is an interesting advert top left on page 59 for a female personal assistant. Is the job located close to you and do you know who it is who is advertising? Also, I think the people who commented on your house just have foot-in-mouthitis and I'd ignore it. If you stressed at the doorway that they must wipe their feet on the mat, take off all footwear there in the doorway, plumped up a cushion the moment they stood up from a chair etc then they'd have a point. I doubt that you're like that at all, so don't let it bother you.

satinshoes · 22/11/2006 20:00

exploding potatoes were not good. so we had pie and veg. just about got the oven clean

dh shattered so in bed watching footie...

luda - agree with ivor. people commenting are just jealous at how effortless it seems to you

OP posts:
ludalightsandlanterns · 22/11/2006 20:08

Hello all.....

Ivor...not seen the advert...infact not seen the paper yet!! Um....is it for the school house by any chance????
A good friend of mine is a female care worker in Aber...she was going to go for it...but her dh has a new job so she can't...my next door neighbour also had the school house job...(til she left)

And thanks Ivor and satinshoes I think I will continue to keep so tidy...they may need some tips in the future!!!!!

ludalightsandlanterns · 22/11/2006 20:10

p.s.....i only have two rather flat looking cushions which are beyond plumping!!!!

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 22/11/2006 20:10

Oh dear satin. At least you had something else you could use!
Has DH been working hard?

DD2 is still awake! My punishment for letting her sleep!

ludalightsandlanterns · 22/11/2006 20:13

p.s again (sorry)

Ivor...no idea what CAT is...sorry...unless you mean the Centre of Alternative Technology...which I very much doubt!!!

um...if you can set it up..or tell me how to do it..then that would be good??

I won't be able to get to town for a bit..my car went in for repairs and it doesn't show any signs of comming back
dh has the courtesy car at the mo...will let you know when I'll be around that way though...

satinshoes · 22/11/2006 20:17

Tort - DH started his own business mid-September so its lots of hard work at the moment! But, it means he is working locally and not commuting for 2.5 hours a day so there are positives.

ABout to tell you all i'm off to bed again and then realised its only 8.20. what a sad life i lead!!!

OP posts:
ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 22/11/2006 20:21

Bed at 8.20 . But then you need all the sleep you can get!
At least he has a reason for being knackered.

ludalightsandlanterns · 22/11/2006 20:22

ooh satin...my dh started his own business about a year and a half ago...I know what you mean about it being hard work!! He started and I was 4 months pregnant .... very long hours and lots of money stress!!!!!!!

IvortheEngine · 22/11/2006 20:46

Hi luda I don't know who the advert refers to. It says "Female Personal Assistant. To be an extra pair of hands for a Mother in Y..... M..... Recreational activities. 12 flexible hours/week. £7 an hour." etc

I'll do the CAT soon. It's Contact Another Talker. It used to be free if you paid subs (I think. I used to pay subs once a year and used CAT and I think they were linked) Now subs have ended and any MNer wishing to CAT someone pays £5 (I think) to be able to do so. Tell you what, give me a shout when you're mobile again and I'll get it organised and we'll meet. Have you been to CAT? It's ummmmm different! Worth a visit but a bit expensive. I think they give discounts to YHA members so we paid a bit less.

Good on your dh for starting his own business. I must admit that sometimes the thought of working for myself appeals. I don't know what I'd do, though, so it's unlikely to happen!

Well...off to do more jobs. The more I do tonight, the less there is to do tomorrow! Still toying with the idea of doing something big tomorrow and Fri as it's inset day both days. May just empty and sort the spare bedroom and paint it on the weekend. I have a border on it but don't know how best to remove it. Any tips, anyone?

IvortheEngine · 22/11/2006 20:50

Sorry, I forgot to say thankyou to those who sympathised with me about my sore hands on yesterday's thread. I must find my cotton gloves to wear in bed. It makes such a difference to be able to put on lots of cream and go to sleep with it on.
