Cleaning glass oven door

My oven door has a glass section, which is dirty. But all oven cleaners (i have tried) just run down and fall off well before their time is up.

It does not seem to come off.

Anyone any tricks?

The poster who described it used it by rubbing the wet tablet whole over the glass, so that's what I did. It scratched it alright! I'm going to buy a glass scraper from the diy store when I remember.

Oh no!Sad You dunk it into a mug of boiling water so it goes really soft and then rub it onto the glass then wipe away. I use tesco value dishwasher tablets .

Wow glad i came back today, i was going to get a dishwasher tablet dunk it in water and rub.
So you are basically just making old fashioned ajax powder.

Dunno, works a treat thoughGrin just make sure the tablet is soft.

I tried the tablet thing and it didn't work. The last bits left on mine are really baked on though so I am going to get some more bicarb as that got the other baked on stuff off

Hi, I have just rubbed a wet dishwasher tablet on the glass, left for a few minutes they wiped off. I then used a job scraper to remove the stubborn burnt on stains. Took me five minutes and it’s like new with little effort!

Sorry I meant hon scraper

Second vote for Astonish. They do a hob and cooktop specialist cleaner which is the best product I have ever used, my hob has come up like brand new. Plan to use it on my oven too.

I'm converted to the dishwasher tab method since last night. Tablet mashed in water, rub over warm oven door, left it to dry (accidentally but it's worked) and wiped off with a wet cloth. It's a miracle! I've used CIF before but this was far easier.
