Net curtain ideas?

I need a bit of screening for our bedroom windows- I moved in opposite my boss. Didn't know that was their house...
Anyway, I don't want lacy nets, nor anything that will block out the light at all, just something that will "lightly mist" the windows. I've sewn the rest of my curtains so any tips on fabrics and where to get them, or other ideas would be super.

Plain nets from dunelm mill. Very cheap. Come with little extendable poles to out them on too. Don't forget to buy the bits that attach the ends of the pole to the window tho.....

Plain white muslin. Sewed my own, only very lightly gathered, and they don't have that horrid nylon sheen that normal nets have.

Ikea have a lot of different styles and designs for less than £20 per pair - you can adjust to the correct drop.

You could always do them as a second layer of curtains, like in hotels, so you can draw them out of the way if you don't want them.

I just have them on a springy pole that fits in the recess.

Cotton voiles. John lewis are good for plain and tastefully striped/patterned ones.

Be warned that white ones go grey just like the horrible polyester granny ones used to. I have no idea why. They also seem to give a room quite a stark light. I have lovely cream ones now which have neither of these problems.

Ooh and ikea do bargainous double curtain poles so you can hang them nicely behind your curtains and draw them really easily rather than using the net wire stuff.
