DD2 was sick on it at the weekend.
I washed it.
I disinfected it.
When it was dry I sprinkled with bicarb, then hoovered.

It still smells.
Any suggestions?

try some water and white vinegar?

or you could hire a carpet cleaner?

JackieNo · 20/11/2006 13:33

More bicarb, and leave it on for longer? SHake and Vac?

munz · 20/11/2006 13:34

get some of that neutrol shake n vac type thing for the carpet - stops the doggie smell in our carpets

Thanks.
I'll try the vinegar, as I have some already, and if that doesn't work I'll go shopping tomorrow.
I just saw an advert for febreeze. Does anyone know if it is any good?

ds was sick in my car - i did the same as you and i kid you not the smell was so intense I gagged all the way to the car wash place where the nice man did a complete valet for a tenner . Anyway in answer to your question the valet involved an anti bac spray and literally going over the sick spot with the steam hoover thingy about 10 times - it was a 'henry' i think and each time he added water and the spray then sucked it all out with the hoover.

Raggydoll · 20/11/2006 13:56

frebreeze won't do it - i used that on my car...

nailpolish · 20/11/2006 13:57

In our nice sickness thing we had carpet power spray, then oodles of bicarb, then hoovering as it dried, heating on, window open.
