Plastic wrapper melted to windowsill..

I have a lovely packet of vine ripened tomatoes. I left them on the windowsill in the kitchen, still in the packet. I just went to get them and the bottom of the wrapper has stuck to the windowsill, so all the black printed writing now seems tattooed on there...

Please tell me how to get it off?? I feel very silly!

A spot of bleach on a cloth? Failing that something mildly abrasive such as bicarb on a damp cloth or a magic eraser used lightly.

is the windowboard plastic?

Good point - don't use bleach on upvc!

WD40, it's amazing stuff, put a little on leave few mins and wipe off. Gets sticky stuff of plastic and glass also, has lots of uses actually.

Thanks!! I'll try the bicarbonate first... see how that goes. It's not plastic so may try bleach if necessary. Think we have one of those magic sponge things somewhere as well.

if it is painted wood or MDF, you have at least got the fallback option of repainting.

If detergents and WD40 don't work, I would be trying a cream cleaner (which is a fine abrasive) next but try to run along the length, or the grain, not in circles which will always show.

Sometimes bleach leaves a yellow stain which appears over a week or more after you used it.
