Hello all. I have a shirt which is vintage Laura Ashley (probably 1980s) good condition and i was going to wear it, but I realise there are long stripes of yellowing on the sleeves. I think it's yellowing of ageing, not stains. How can i get rid? Thanks for any advice.

Try soaking it in a solution of borax (a very gentle Bleach), wash normally with other whites then line dry it on a sunny day.

Thanks Tulips. I will give it a go. Ws actually trying to track down Borax a year ago (for a kiddie science experiment, and couldn t find it anywhere). Do you know where to get it?

I got mine in a hardware/ household goods shop.

The borax/ normal washing was used on a very yellowed old cotton Christening gown but it came up beautifully.

Thanks Tulips so kind of you to get back to me. I'll go ahead and Borax it!
