Hi,

The last few days I have come donw in the morning to discover slug trails on my kitchen floor and around the door leading into the sitting room...last night I came down at 4am and there were 3 slugs loitering around my kitchen bin
I hate slugs, in fact, I am terrified of them!
Please does anyone have any dieas how to get rid of them. I have a 9 month old so cant put salt/slug pellets down in the house and I have no clue how they are getting in

please help me!

Have tried to follow trails back to see where they have come from but they mysteriously stop in the middle fo the floor....maybe they are teleporting in!

Am about to go out and get some slippers now, I normally go barefoot in the house and am up and down at night but the thought of standing on a slug.....[puking emoticon}

I dont have cats but I do have parrots, and the trails in the sitting room go under their cage where there is a lot of seed....

put a beer trap down for them to party in. needs to be low enough for them to climb in but deep enough to drown in....more difficult indoors as you can't sink it into the ground but I'm sure you can find something?

Had the same problem here. We put the pellets (felt dead guilty doing it) behind kick boards too. Also used a nemitode (sp?) in the garden and did various things to attract birds (in a bid to encourage them to come and eat them). We really had to reduce the number of slugs we had in our garden (had excessive amounts). Combined effots worked and have been slug free for a couple of years now. Good luck!!

The problem with a beer trap is you have to empty it! My lovely mother put one in my garden and I threw up every time I had to empty it, seriously, they revolt me that much!

Oh god, and the smell if you salt a slug....bleeeurgh!

I feel like they are picking on me as I murdered so many when I lived in a nasty bedsit, I had to put a ring of salt round my bed to stop them attacking me in the night......

but surely you have to move the carcasses however you kill 'em? At least with a beer trap you can pick up the saucer and bin the whole lot and they just smell boozy!
