Organising under-sink cupboard of cleaning stuff?

Can I ask for your tips on how you keep the cleaning stuff under the kitchen sink tidy and accessible?

Our under-sink unit is a corner unit so there's a door which you can open, but a load of space which is much less accessible - it tends to mean that stuff tends to get chucked in there and end up in a bit of a mess.

I've seen curtain tension rods used to hang spray bottles off, looked ok too

I only have cloths/sponges under the sink.
the cleaning products are high up as safer with children/pets.

I use cheap washing-up bowls - I have one of those corner cupboard things - and store various things in each. The bowls at the back, or the space at the back underneath the first rack, house the bits and bobs that aren't going to be used much.

Mousmous I have child locks on the doors, so I'm happy with the safety - but not the mess!

Cozietoesie yes, something like washing up bowls may be a good idea - do you stack them?

No - I don't stack them but I think it depends on their sizes and how much room you have. I have two (rougly semi-circular) trays inside the cupboard once the door is opened and the height of the space for each and the size of the bowls (Poundland-type specials) more or less determines their number. I like using them not only because you can store things upright (the trays are wire) but because the bowls contain any leaks or mess from things inside them. You can just hoick out a bowl and sort it quickly while the main cupboard stays closed.

I bought open topped plastic containers from Muji for mine - they are quite compact and I have one container per theme (eg metal cleaning products, floor cleaning products).

Themed containers are useful because then you can just take out one depending on what task you're about to undertake. Which ones you use just depends on sizes, budget and natural inclination, I guess.

I also have themed containers. Mine are CD storage boxes, without lids - they are the right size and shape and cheap to buy at Ikea or Tiger.

I think that my only caveat, snow, would be to watch the weight/number of containers you put in the cupboard. These corner cupboards are sometimes not as robust as standard cupboards, with the trays hung on a single central pillar, so you don't need to get so organized that you've jammed them full to the gunnels with heavy tins and boxes of cleaning stuff and the trays start to sag or buckle.

Cozie when you say you've got 'trays' do you mean a carousel something like this?

I wanted something like this but DH said it wouldn't work because of the pipework from the sink - once the new sink is fitted, I'm going to have another look. I think a carousel with themed baskets would work brilliantly.

Mine are in a plastic caddy, easier to move around from room to from. Couple of quid from Wilko I believe.

Don't buy so any different products.

I don't know of any household job that can't do done with one of washing up liquid, vinegar or bleach.

Something like that although I have two trays not one and they're made with heavy wire and don't have the solid bottom that the one in your picture does.

I may be being over-cautious about the weight. It's just that I'm not so confident that the large surface shelf area and the one pivotal connection point are as robust as my standard shelves. (You can still get a ferocious amount of stuff inside though and I do like the concept for utilising what might otherwise be dead space.)

If you're to do a fit, though, you'll no doubt check all that out according to the make and type you consider buying - mine were already in the house when I moved in.
