I can't tell you how excited (or relieved?) I am. I used to keep a nice house but after doing it (50/50 wth DH) for 25 years, I've had enough.

Completely lost interest and it's been badly neglected in recent times. Ive got myself a full-time job purely so I can pay for a cleaner and not feel bad about not doing the housework. Hopefully I'm going to enjoy the job too Grin

Anyway, ATM the place is pretty grim. Not How Clean is Your House grim, but far from my usual standard - the standard I will expect from the cleaners. Obviously they can't do miracles in one session but over time, I want it back how it was.

So, do I need to spend the next 2 days giving it a proper blitz, so they can see what's expected, or is that what I'm paying them for?

It's through a cleaning company, if that makes a difference.

Tidy so they can clean- and give them some priorities- do you want a room blitzed at a time? Kitchen bathroom first? Be really clear what you want!

I would tidy up a bit like putting stuff away but would leave the actual cleaning to the cleaners.

We expect the house to be picked up first and then we do an initial deep clean to get the home up to professional cleaning standards, after that the teams maintain that standard with regular visits.

I don't know how other companies operate, but that's how we do it but we are told we are more detailed than most.
