Flying ants - can't take it anymore!!

3 evenings of an hour of hoovering up the bastards. Makes me itch just thinking about it.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get rid of them?? Can't find the nest and thought we had sealed up all cracks. Seems to be a combination of normal ants and the disgusting big flying ones.

Don't want to use anything that may finish off the cat in the process!

No advice, just empathy as I discovered about 1000 of the little fuckers in my bedroom tonight. Ugh!!

Thanks Irene - am getting seriously pissed off, particularlyas they emerge at the same time every evening, just as I'm about to start getting the kids bathed and in bed!

Get some Dethlac and zap the fuckers.

Plan to go out for the day directly after you've sprayed as it's potent stuff.

You wont see them again this year and maybe never again.

We use ordinary flyspray at bedtime (they're downstairs) and that's the end of them for the year. Hoover in the morning.

Like the sound of the dethlac- will it poison the cat too though?? I am getting a lot of satisfaction out of killing them with my bare hands!

Anyone one know why I have had 3 days of it - as I understood it they were only a problem one day a year..

I thought they flew for about 2 weeks.

I have used Dethlac with cats around and they were fine. Just keep them out of the room on the day you spray I think.

No need for any poison. Last year I zapped them with a water and washing up liquid spray. Instant death!

Never spray them outside as it forces them inside. We used to have a problem inside til I started spraying all the skirting boards with long lasting fly killer and they moved to their outside exits
