Bought from Tesco near the cling film and stuff: tall thin can (about 7" high) called De-Solv-it Universal. There might be more than one in the range, but this one lists everything it takes off and the list starts:
Grease and oil
Tar and glue
And dab the stain rather than spreading it around! Good luck.
