Getting a new dishwasher - reviews on Bosch models please

So our 7 year old Hotpoint dishwasher has given up its ghost and we are in the market for a new free standing d/w. Our budget is under £400 (dh would prefer lower eg.£300 or less) but I really want my cutlery drawer (as opposed to the basket as I like sticking my bulky dirty pots in the d/w to get cleaned).

Any other brands that would have the drawer and be in our price range? I don't have which best buy so if anyone can share reviews on this Bosch model, I'd be very grateful!

Watching as we're in the same position and I've only ever inherited dishwashers with the house!

Also watching as my ten year old Siemens has just gone kaput. I need a brushed stainless one, though.

Brushed stainless steel sounds good as we have a Bosch washing machine like that too.

Anyone?? Getting really tired of hand washing the dishes - if notmfirnthe environment, I'd be using paper plates by now ;-) what a first world problem, hah!

Our Bosch dishwasher will be 18 at Christmas and is still going strong!

Our old Bosch dishwasher was amazing and I'd never consider buying another brand now. We inherited a different brand when we moved house and it's nowhere near as good

I think it is a Classix model, it was in the basic range and certainly wasn't expensive. We bought the matching tumble dryer too and that is still with us too! In fact, I'm willing them to conk out as we had a major kitchen extension three years ago and bought new Seimens appliances but as the dishwasher still worked we thought we'd give it another year or so...

I think dh wants the classixx model (no cutlery tray :( ) - does anyone have the which? Reviews for the Bosch models - exxcel & classixx by any chance?

I heard some of the machines are made in Germany/Europe - anyone know which models these are (or where I can find such info?).

I've got an older version of the dead simple cheap one (someone please tell Currys that "simplistic" does not mean extra simple ) & it's great. Does have the cutlery basket, but I can fit big pots round it (or just take it out to do a separate big pots load if necessary) - you get a bit more height inside without the cutlery tray.
I believe all Bosch appliances are made in Spain except the most expensive (Logixx?) - I heard that was true of washing machines anyway. Certainly a holiday house in Spain had the identical d/w to ours but with a Spanish brand!

We have exactly that one OP. It's great, flexible programmes and easy to use and, compared with our old one, it's unbelievably quiet.

I really liked the idea of the cutlery tray, but I'm not sure I like it in reality though. There are several things that used to go in the old basket that don't go in the machine now - like tops of cafetière soft example

I had a logixx, they are made in Germany. You need a tray, baskets are not as good.

My Miele and Bosch are similar on wash but the Miele has an interior light and I'm shallow.

Mine's a Bosch exxcell slim line 7 or so years old now - my washing machine repair man recommended Bosch as a replacement washing machine ...however he has just been out to fix mine (blockage) and said the new ones are much harder to repair - you need to take the whole thing to pieces to get to the pump etc - more time consuming so expensive to repair...he called mine one of the last of the good ones.
But - sorry - he didn't recommend an alternative!

It seems to be a model older than the one I found (mine that I found was the exxcel model). Avantixx is the name of the Bosch range - apparently it was introduced by Bosch to fit between the classixx and the exxcel machines but they phased it out in 2012 to focus on the 3 ranges.

We're trying to find differences between the 2 but have found none so far and if going by the last post, I should perhaps opt for the older model!

My parents' Bosch lasted 30 years and the Bosch replacement went back after 18 months of constant problems. We Sold our Bosch after a few years due to kitchen replacement but it was just OK. They aren't what they used to be.

I had a Bosch dishwasher and the front panel with the buttons came off. Also had to keep tipping it to reset flood indicator when no flood.

I have Bosch tumble dryer. Had to glue the handle back on it. Both appliances very average in terms of performance.

Never managed to break any of our other appliances that easily. Will never buy Bosch again.

I was talking about my dishwasher rather than washing machine...I'd already got a Bosch washing machine (and tumble) after my repairman's recommendation - both have been fine -although the handle broke on my tumble but for lots of models you can buy new ones for around £5 on ebay (but I think mine was £16 ...more than £5 anyway! ).
I should have said also that if you decide to go for Bosch this is probably the best time in the year ...possibly a month or two earlier. They introduce their new model for the year at the end of March (or maybe April) so there is a glut of the 'last years' models being sold off. Iirc they usually are just one or two digits different at the end of the model number.
(My oven is a Bosch too - struggling to remember the price as I got it as a package with a hob etc in the end but think it would have been less than £400 rather than £600 for the previous years model but I waited for a couple of weeks not wanting to have to store it before the kitchen was fitted and they'd all gone )

Just to wrap thread up - we got the Bosch Exxcel as per my link (but from co-op).

It took a few uses to get used to the cutlery rack but I do enjoy it now (as much as one can enjoy loading a d/w!) as its easier to put away cutlery after. Good model that washes well (even the crusty stains on plates!) and dries well (except for plastics ie. Kids plates but I don't mind that since our old d/w was like that too). Can recommend.
