Just interested in what routines other people have with housework and how those who are so thorough manage to get it all done in a day? Smile

GrinGrinGrin@ routine

My Mum had a strict routine

Mon.....cleaning whole house, stripping beds, kitchen floor, washing

Tue.....baking
Wednesday.....see Granny
Thursday.....ironing
Friday.....shopping

I do the opposite.
As and when.

I would actually love to be so organised. When it comes to paperwork and my job I am super organised but I work long shifts some days. I am moving to a rural area in three weeks so will have to find a new job am hoping to establish a routine in that time as my new house is a gorgeous barn conversion with huge rooms!

I have two dogs that are moulting like mad so that is why I vacuum so much, hate seeing hair everywhere. Also it is quite swampy muddy where we live even after a little bit of rain hence the wiping of kitchen cupboards and appliances daily sometimes 2-3 times a day. (dogs again)
Also live in bungalow with wooden flooring throughout - so hair gets everywhere!

Everyday

Vacuum living room, dining room, kitchen and hall. Got one of those cordless bagless vacuums for quickness Grin love it.
Wipe leather sofas in living room and dining room.
Wipe Kitchen counters and front of lower cupboard doors, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge freezer.
Take out kitchen bin. Dogs like to steal/empty if more than half full.
Load of laundry done everyday including putting it all away when dry ironing done as needed.

Tuesday
Tidy DD1s room including strip and remake bed, tidy then dust and vacuum.

Wednesday
Clean out fridge and tidy cupboards (shopping comes Thursday night)

Thursday
Tidy DD2s room including strip and remake bed, tidy then dust and vacuum.

Friday
Tidy my bedroom including strip and remake bed, tidy the dust and vacuum.

Saturday
Gardening
Wash windows inside and out.

Sunday
Bath dogs.
Pack nursery bag and bag for child minder.
Check DD1 has school bags sorted and all homework for coming week is up to date.
Ironing of anything lying in basket not claimed during the week.

Dionysuss......2 loads washing a day!!!!!! How?

Dionysuss · 02/06/2015 20:32

The bulk of it is towels. I shower at the gym 3x a week, as does DH. Dd1 swims 4x, dd2 and DS swim twice.

Lucy61 · 02/06/2015 22:05

How do you manage to fit all these chores in?! Are you all sahm?! I get home at 5, give DS his tea, cook dinner while dh puts son to bed, eat our dinner and by then it's 8pm. Make packed lunches while dh does washing up/ clears kitchen then it's bedtime! That's it on weekdays Hmm

merrymouse · 02/06/2015 22:08

Love a good routines thread. Marking place.

mumtoblaire · 02/06/2015 23:24

I work full time as does DH, we have two kids and the two dogs. I leave the house at 7.30am drop kids then go to work. By the time I leave work and get home it's 6.30pm. I am able to pop home at lunch to walk dogs and do a couple of things but usually I end up sorting the dinner out. I don't watch much tellySmile

Lucy61 · 03/06/2015 07:29

Amazing!!! We tend to blitz everything at the weekend, apart from the washing which we do once a week on fri.
