Can I put ds's slippers in the washing machine?

He has vomited on them (tummy bug) and I can't get the smell out. They are Bob the Builder slippers bought from Boots - material upper, rubber sole. The washing machine is a top-loader, if that makes any difference

Sorry, meant they were bought from Clarks (shoes on the brain!)

if you cant get the smell out then you have nothing to lose...

I've put several pairs of DS1's slippers in the machine over time, even his Bob ones that light up. I just pop 'em in with a jumper wash. Not had a problem yet.

If you haven't lobbed them in the machine yet, try scrubbing with a solution of bicarb, leave for a bit and then rinse and dry off - that should get rid of the smell.

If you do still want to put them in the machine, get one of those mesh bags for delicates and put them in that first.

Or a pillocase with a hair band wrapped round the top

i just washed my dh's slippers and they came out fine

regularly wash ds's slippers, mas as delicate then dry them on fire guard..come up like new.

I always wash slippers. Mine, in particular, because I have a bad habit of slipping outside to the bin or washing line in them. I have just washed an outgrown pair of DS's because I intend to pass them on, they look like new.
