Getting grass stains out of cricket whites

DS has started playing cricket. I need to shift the grass stains on his cream polyester trousers - label advises 40 degrees which clearly hasn't worked - any tips please?

I used to use a nail brush with washing up liquid to gently scrub cricket trousers, then use something like vanish on the stain. Good luck.

Laundry soap (use to be fairy) and a nail brush.

Soak overnight in Ariel then wash as usual. They will be stained as soon as they ate worn again. Does it matter?
