The mumsnet doormat - no, really, literally the doormat

I seem to remember that there is a magic doormat revered on Mumsnet for its ability to just suck the filth from the shoes of anyone even just standing briefly on it. But I can't remember the name of it. The combination of new sunroom floor tiles which somehow show every mark, and an elderly labrador who plods in and out all day, is driving me insane. So what is this wonderful thing? What is the name of it, where can I get it, is in hugely expensive, is it worth it?

Turtle mat.
Not. Cheap, but v worth it: we have 4 kids, 1 dog and 3 large turtle mats Grin

In case you see the price and have second thoughts, they really are excellent. Smile

We have two, one of which we've had for nearly ten years. Still just as good as it was at the start.

Plus you can sling them in the washing machine which is a big bonus.

Thanks for that LooksLike - I did have to have a brandy and a quick lie down. Since when I've been eyeing my old lady and wondering how long she's going to last.....Grin

Grin

There are turtle-like mats about which are not quite as good but still very good.

Here's their website -

Love some of the exclusive designs.

I've had mine for about 8 years now. I chuck it in the washing machine about 4 times a year & it is still as good as new.

Damn it - I want one of the new fancy ones.

magimedi · 13/05/2015 15:51

And double damn - I've just seen their bath mats.

I looked at Turtlemat but they were a bit fussy for me. Bought a Lakeland one - which I imagine is made from the same material, but plain and much cheaper.

It's been very good and washes great.
