to get off my ar*e and finish the last few things on my "things to do" list for tonight.

All I have to do is:

finish tidying the kitchen (nearly loaded the dishwasher so that shouldn't take more than about 3 minutes).

Finish sorting out the piles of papers on the table, piano and other kitchen worktop (could take 5-20 minutes - depends how much cr*p on the piles needs 'sorting').

Hoover the lounge/diner.....it's quite big and fiddly (lots of things to get round to hoover - no nice big 'space' to just show the hoover....

I'd so love to get them done - but now the boys are in bed I just feel like sitting on my bum for the rest of the night

If it was me I wouldn't be able to settle until I had done it. Start by doing the easiest thing on your list and then see how you feel after that.

Take a tip from flylady - set a timer (use your cooker or mobile phone if you don't have one) for 15 mins.
Do as much as you can then sit down when the buzzer goes off!

tidy kitchen

give yourself 15 minutes max for the pile of crap then stop

sit down

Tidy the kitchen, quick quick and leave the rest, bums need their rest too you know

Soorry that didn't really help did it!

thing is - kitchen is one of the jobs which is what I supposed to do - DH easily does his fair share of the housework - but he does like to come back to a tidy kitchen when he gets in at 9.30pm or later - so that really should be done.

Papers - I've started......so it's looking worse than before atm. - could just put them all in one big pile to sort tomorrow I suppose.

Hoovering - desperately needs doing - lounge carpet is, quite frankly, embarrassing at the moment - actually no it's worse than that it's TERRIBLE!

get your arse off here for a start

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 07/11/2006 20:48

ok - now getting my ar*e off and into gear - it's getting cold up here - I want to watch that "too fat to walk programme" and DH could be home anytime from 1/2hr onwards (it was 10.45 last night as he went to see a friend on the way home LOL).
