Hiya...
I know theres something you do, but I cant remember what. Is it coke? Or vinegar? Or Bicarb? Or something? Ive plonked some vinegar in, and some bicarb and some lemon drops to see what happens but not sure thats right...

Thanks!

I don't know which liquid you put in but I saw Aggie put whatever in a vase with some rice grains to knock the scum about a bit. Worked a treat.

vinegar and uncooked rice.

Quootiepie · 07/11/2006 11:46

White vinegar? Does it matter what type? I bought the stinky stuff...

white is best but I don't think it really matters

"a few grains of rice and some distilled white vinegar, rotate gently" say Kim & Aggie.

Quootiepie · 07/11/2006 11:47

I have white, but not distilled or wine like I think your supposed to have..... just means I think ill have a smelly kitchen

Thanks!

If the rice doesn't work, you can get these from Lakeland (where else!) that do the same thing.

you're meant to bleach them as well before refilling with flowers

NomDePlume · 07/11/2006 11:50

quootie, the vinegar is a strong acid so it will dissolve the stain. It doesn't matter if it's normal sarsons that you have on chips, or the white stuff.

(all vinegar is distilled, I think)
