Google's been no help so I've turned to mumsnet!

There is a bit of my kitchen where I am not happy with the work surface. It's granite and I think once they stick it down that's IT! It isn't going anywhere. I'd rather not have to replace the units as well as the kitchen is new. Anyways, has anyone ever had their granite work surface successfully separated from the units underneath?

Our granite was held down by it's own weight. The only gluey bits were the joins which again, didn't really need sticking. They mixed in granite dust to glue to make an invisible joint to stop crumbs getting stuck.

If in doubt, phone a monumental mason for some advice.
