Health risks from damaged microwave door?

Just noticed the door of our microwave is split at the side where the handle is horizontally but you can't see it easily as on inside. I have no idea how long it has been like this.
We won't use it and will get a new one.
Has our health been at risk from this ? I am a little paranoid about such things !

Do you stand next to it when it's being used?

Not particularly I don't think so. No idea how long it was like that so used in multitude of ways by various people.

I really wouldn't worry.
