I don't know but would be very glad to hear any ideas too - mine is currently in such a state that I am going to have to blitz it with bad chemicals . Then I am going to clean it with my e-cloth every time so that I don't have to use the bad chemicals again... honest.

elbow grease, sharp knife, wire wool and for exceptionally bad ovens sandpaper.

Put an ovenproof bowl of hot water inside the oven, then switch it on to 250. The water should steam up inside the oven and take off a lot of the grease and dirt.

Posh ovens have "self oven cleaning" programmes, but this is all they do.

Convince your most houseproud friend she needs a new one and should give/sell you hers.

Soak everything in washing soda - overnight

Following on from the last message, soak the shelves in biological powder in the bath. They come up a treat. Need to do this myself, haven't done it for a year or more and also the BBQ grill is sitting waiting for the same treatment...since around August

Use the chemicals once to get on top of it - and then keep it clean.
