We need to pack up the contents of our kitchen in preparation for a major refit. We will put most of the crockery/cupboard contents out in the garage but don't have any boxes or anything to store them in. Our local supermarkets say they can't give us any cardboard boxes and I'm feeling a bit stuck. Are we going to have to buy boxes? Hmm

Maybe try places like garden centres? Our local ones keep boxes as they're easier to use for plants.

If you do end up having to buy it might be worth buying some plastic tubs that can be reused, places like Wilkinsons will probably be fairly cheap.

Get free boxes off gumtree or post on Facebook selling sites

When we were doing our extension I bought plastic boxes with tight fitting lids to store household/kitchen items in the garage. Think I paid £3.99 each from Home Bargains. Probably had about 15. They kept everything clean and dry and were easy to stack. I used clear boxes so it was easy to identify the contents. This was useful when I was looking for a utensil that I had inadvertently packed away.

We then went onto use them to store Christmas decorations and camping equipment etc. We kept a few spare and they come in handy when taking stuff to the charity shop or when we go to Costco Ikea etc.

We got boxes from Argos and they weren't too expensive
