Astracast sink or stainless steel?

Got to choose this week really - I've got both, both were cheap so it doesn't matter too much for that POV but which would you recommend?

The astracast one is a beautiful orange colour! and the steel one is just steel.

Worktops are solid beech.

Never had granite/composite so any thoughts gladly considered Smile

Steel is easy to keep clean.

Thanks, PJ. Is the other stuff difficult to clean then? I'm a bit clueless.

Yes.

IME they almost never look truly clean if in an active kitchen. Tea, coffee and onion skin will stain them. Knocking with an aluminium pan or utensil will leave a grey mark. A tin can will leave a rust ring.

Aha. Thank you, I didn't know that. Mind you our water is hard so steel never looks clean either, but at least you can do something about that when you feel like it Smile

You've helped me decide. Smile

Steel scratches though, there's probably a way of buffing them out though.

An orange sink sounds awesome.

I had a black astracast sink and it was FANTASTIC - we moved house and left it behind and I now have boring ss one. Will deffo change it back if/when the kitchen is done. I miss it. The ss is more of a pain to look nice.

The only problem I had was we were in a hard water area so just abit of limescale. But a good wipedown with limelight once every 6 weeks of so easily brought it back to it's good self.

If I were you I'd go for the orange one and have a WOW in the way of sinks and buy yourself an e-cloth to loviingly keep it lovely Smile

ps - I had it 7 years and it didn't have a mark or scratch on when I left it

Oh bugger, well I'm back to square one now aren't I Grin Brew

Thank you, yes it is awesome, I really like it - but then I like them both. I need two kitchens.
