Oh fgs. 4 year old Samsung ecobubble is dead. Dishwasher died a month ago too. I loved it, but according to various repairers it's dead as a dodo. Too expensive to attempt to repair. Bloody annoying that you get a 5 year warranty with the same machine now.

What do I get next? I would like a machine with a large drum - 11/12kg.

Miele are without a doubt the best you can get, but they're expensive and don't do a machine that big.

LG are probably the best of the "big drum" brands but with a drum that big, there has to be a compromise somewhere and it's usually on quality/reliability.

LG do cover their motors for 10 years though, which is a plus. They're direct drive too so they're very quiet and don't shake much.

Just a little tip to help prolong the life of your next machine; don't use quick wash for full loads. They're only designed for small loads and doing a full, heavy load on quick causes excessive wear on the machine.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks rabbit. I was in such a bad mood about it yesterday! Phoned up lots of repair guys, but no one had a clue or wanted to touch it. So we've gone for a 9kg LG which is coming tomorrow.
