I reckon surely you are the best folk to ask about which machines are good and bad!!!

Not reallly - if you read the thread properly especially recent posts - you'll see that many of us with average 3 loads a day have machines with small load capacities.

But which ones breakdown under the strain, and which ones soldier on?

Well my Servis Washer/Dryer has solidered on for 5yrs of hard abuse (used to use the dryer part lots in the early days as we had no where to dry the clothes). It's now rather loud and rattly but still washes the clothes ok LOL.

Well, I have a two year old Hoover nextra 7.5kg Megaload, and it is FAB, absolutely bang on what we need. Would recommend heartily to anyone. Vaguely remember there was a similar thread ages and ages ago and it got loads of votes then.

Otoh, had a Hotpoint previously and wouldn't touch another one, Engineer almost became a family member LOL!

we have a bosch and it is about 5 years now. (crossing fingers, touching wood, whispering incase it hears me) and it done 3 and more loads a day

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 02/11/2006 12:14

ive got a hotpoint - its 6.5 yrs old and havent had an engineer out once. its only a small load capacity, i can get 2 loads of washing into my 6kg tumbledryer!!!

my dream washing machine would be one of those on extreame makeover home edition - mahoosive!

MamaApronstrings · 02/11/2006 12:14

we invested in a meile (sp) used it for three years and then my parents had it when we moved stateside 3 years ago - I thin they have had someone out to it once - but it wasn't major. My parents obviously do less than three loads a day, but 6 years isn't bad.

When we were in the shop the man got a coin and scratched and bashed at the surface - that was what sold it to dh

miele - will last years, quite an investment but well worth it
