How to clean/freshen up uPVC window frames?

Hello folks

The outside of my house needs some attention and I plan to clean my window frames and guttering but with what?

Is bleach my only option? Does anyone know of anything else I can use to get the frames up like new or thereabouts - same with the guttering, it's grey but looking tired. It's plastic and the decorator told me he can't paint it for that reason.

Any help appreciated.

Our frames are white and I use cif.

Yes Cif. Bleach can turn plastics yellow so avoid that.

Thank god you told me about the bleach!

Cif it is then unless anyone else has any other ideas??

I did think I would need something stronger than cif as they're quite old and dirty

I cleaned the DCs ones last weekend. They get a sort of dried green slime on over the winter. It came straight off with the cif.

cleaner

I would be reluctant to use an abrasive cleaner. Once the surface polish has been scratched, it will hold dirt and mould and will be harder to clean.

I use soaped water. Ie. Washing up liquid and a sponge

I can vouch for cif and bar keepers friend. Mine were filthy and I hadn't touched the outside of my house in years due to kids and other pressing matters! Used some cif and some old rags and a bowl of water and thet looked almost new again!
