My mum always said don't wash clothes on good Friday? well my washing pile is getting to the stage where it looks like we've all got bad off a holiday Shock my first day off all week and I'm so tempted to throw it all in the machine except then I hear my mum's voice. HELP!!!!

I remember my DM telling me that she was once hanging out nappies on a Good Friday, and the neighbour appeared to berate her 'It's a double sundayShock. The funny thing was, DM was the one who'd be at church every week, a lifelong christian, the neighbour never darkened its doors.

Few things more ridiculous than a superstition evidently designed to make women's lives more difficult, especially layered onto a whole other set of mythology.

Though I'm irrationally annoyed that I forgot to get any hot cross buns. Grin

elfy, I think there can be no winners in this game, on reflection. No more vom today though thankfully Smile

maybe it came about because it is traditionally a holy day like Sunday. I'm doing very little today but may put a wash on

Well I wasn't going to because I'm feeling lazy today, but now I know it's a thing then I'm definitely not doing any. No point tempting fate eh?
