How do I sell the first wife's Moorcroft?!

To explain, I am the second wife, the Moorcroft ginger jar was a gift from dh's parents to the "happy couple" and my husband got it in the divorce. It's been in our loft for at least 8 years and he wants to sell it - I have no idea how to sell such a collectable item (it's a Golden Jubilee special limited edition super-duper flying one - or something). Help!

Go on your local Gumtree as it is free to place an ad. I sold a lot of antique furniture on it recently as my taste had changed.
I googled the items first to see roughly how much they were worth. I knew they were Victorian, then I put pics on Gumtree.com and bingo they were gone in two days for cash.

Post a picture OP! Some Moorcrofts are just gorgeous. Others just a bit meh.

Do you have an auction house locally? That might be your best chance of getting close to what the thing is worth, as it's likely to attract lots of online buyers.

There are a couple on eBay for around £350, is that what you were expecting?

If it wasn't for the fact that it was a wedding present to the first wife, would you be keeping it? Is it nice?

There are lots of ceramic collectors clubs, so you can look and see if the design etc is on there. Please note just because it is "collectable" and cost a lot when new it doesnt mean it is worth much now.

Do look on ebay and try to look on the US site as well. They often like that sort of stuff over there.
