Throw just fell apart in washing machine...

Just put a throw in the washing machine and it completely fell apart (didn't reduce spin cycle). Don't care about throw but there's loads of little bits in drum. Have cleared out what I can but there's lots bits stuck around the edge of the back of the drum. I've tried to clear them with a knife and got some out but not all.
Any tips? It's a new machine so hoping these bits won't have affected any integral parts. Am I just going to have to pull bits of the throw out of clothes for a few washes?

I'd put the machine on again and run a cycle to try and flush as many of the bits out as possible. Stick a couple of old towels in to balance it. You may need to clear the filter at the front if it clogs. What was the throw made of?

Viscose and acrylic. And it's states "do not wash, dry clean only" Blush. Must start reading labels before putting in machine.
