I've been going through our old baby clothes and love the idea of making some of them into a quilt. However, my sewing skills amount to darning socks and putting on buttons. Do you think I would be able to make something half decent where the stitches aren't too obvious? Thanks.

Yes definitely! Do you want to do it by hand or with a machine?

I've never made anything from baby clothes before, but I know most of them are made out of stretchy fabric like jersey, so I would recommend stabilising the fabric with some iron-on interfacing before you cut/sew it.

Thanks for the encouragement and advice abbaroony! It would never have occurred to me to stabilise the fabric. Are there any online videos you know of you would recommend?

Zing has a how to quilt thread in Arts & Crafts, that might be worth a read

This YouTube channel has tonnes of videos on how to create different quilt designs - might be good for inspiration. www.youtube.com/user/MissouriQuiltCo

And in this one the lady makes a blanket from baby clothes although she doesn't use interfacing

Thanks very much abba. Maybe I can do this??
