Any comments / advise on choosing between a new cooker with an induction hob or one with a LPG Gas hob?

I have an induction hob on my range cooker and I love it. Easy to control the heat and easy to clean. I did have to buy a complete set of new pans though, which was rather expensive...

I'd would never chose to have anything other than an induction hob again.
It's fab: easy to control, v fast, easy to clean, v efficient, no wasted energy if you, say, take the pot from the hop to strain the pasta or whatever.

Having said that, i never got on with gas hobs, so would always favour electricity over gas tbh.

My induction hon heat control is pretty good but not as good/easy as gas, but as I'm not a cordon bleu cook that's fine. The ease of cleaning it is absolutely fabulous. I would say masterchefs should still go for gas though

I'm having the same dilemma. I have an electric cooker now and hate it with a passion - takes forever to heat anything up and you can never get pans hot enough for things like steak.

I worry induction will be similar - not getting pans hot enough. I thknk they look smarter than gas but I know you can cook really well on gas, so think I'm going to go with gas. (And have to put bottles of gas outside as our village is not hooked up to gas!!)

Thank you everyone for your replys, think I'm going to go with Induction
:-)

Keenoovino, my last cooker was LPG hob and as much as I prefer gas to normal electric, I HATE cleaning the damn rings and you can't wipe as you spill. I've heard so much good stuff about induction - easy to clean, as responsive as or even quicker than gas and best of all, you can set the hob rings to time! No more walking away for 2 minutes and then getting side tracked and running back to the smell of the bottom burning out of my pan!
