Very likely silly question about new sofas/armchairs

I feel really daft about asking this - and am fully prepared to be told I'm being a bit silly.

I know that when I buy new furniture, I usually clean it down before I use it.

Tomorrow I'm getting a brand new sofa and armchair delivered. I've never actually bought a new sofa/armchair combo before - I've always had hand-me-downs! Should I be doing something to clean the upholstery before using them? (The sofa is an IKEA one with a separate cover which can be machine washed apparently). It would be a real faff to have to clean and dry them, so if I don't have to I won't...

Thanks

No. They're clean and ready to use. But if you want to get rid of that "new smell" I would. If not, you don't need to do anything.

They come wrapped in plastic, so they shouldn't graze anything along the way but sometimes there are gaps in the plastic. If you do notice any damage to the sofa, mention it and they will replace or repair it then and there. They did that for my mum's sofa.

Thank you. They're IKEA things (the sofa is flatpacked I believe), so I know they're in cardboard boxes - guess I'll see what condition they arrive in tomorrow!
