Fleas?

A friend of mine came to visit on Friday morning and unexpectedly brought her dog along. She only stayed for half an hour but the whole time her dog was rubbing around my sofa and carpet. I had to go out straight after her visit and haven't been home at a reasonable hour since meaning I haven't vacuumed since her visit. (thin walls and neighbours with young , easily woken children)

I am now suffering from unexplained bites on my ankles and arms.

I have mentioned bites around her but she has said that her dog is treated and flea free.

Is it possible that her dog was carrying fleas and that the fleas have infiltrated my home? Or could it be something else? (we do have a small ladybird infestation however they are upstairs and I only itch when I am in the living room) What can I do to fix it?

Help?

Treat the house anyway. I got a dude in with his spray and it did the trick.

Indorex spray is available online and from vets, and will kill any fleas/eggs.

I'm really wary of using chemicals on this as I am 37 weeks pregnant and my husband is allergic to pretty much everything chemically meaning it would be down to me doing it as we can't afford to get someone in.

is there a non chemical way to remove fleas?
