I have an ancient Panasonic with grill on its last legs
The functions I use most are:
regular short ones, eg 6 mins on high for a curry ready meal, 10 secs to soften butter, auto settings to defrost bread slices or mince, 5-6 mins to cook frozen peas
a jacket potato one which is great (grill means they get browned a bit)
& a gratin setting for frozen meals like lasagne or shepherds pie
Panasonic don't appear to offer all those options any more. Do any others?
