Washing machine drain

I live in a flat and the washing machine drain hose connects through to the main drainage pipe where the kitchen sink etc also connects. The machine itself is new (approx 1 year old and smells fine) but whenever its in use there's a horrible smell of drain that comes up from the sink. I assume its to do with the machine drainage pipe probably being a bit stinky but how can I stop this? The sink drain itself is fine and I regularly clean with boiling water and draino so i assume its coming from the machine outflow.
How can I clean this?

Watching with interest as I have the same problem -when the machine empties the drain smell is appalling.
I've had it with 2 different machines -I've had the pipes, trap,u bend apart, cleaned the drain, cleaned the filters, cleaned the machine.
Nothing works.

Please post photos of the run of the waste hose and how it attaches to the sink trap or drain.

You can get an attachment that goes over the drain pipe to stop this. Will try and find a link.

I can't find it, but ours was caused by the drain hose just being hooked into the upright waste pipe. Now it is properly screwed in, as it would be under the sink. This stops the smells coming back up when the w/m drains. Hope that makes sense without me having to pull the w/m out yo take a picture Grin
