Can anybody recommend a similar style though? it is the style of it I like, the name Orla Kiely is not the point. It is actually not even typical of her stuff.

Which one? I've never seen the upright style before but the other is quite common - I have the Nigella version.

SoupDragon · 10/03/2015 13:56

Or is it the pattern?

ThefITCrowd · 10/03/2015 13:59

it is called raised stem yellow bread bin.

Actually, I see a joseph joseph one I like but it's 'melamine' which doesn't look good for that long. I would like the earthenware one much more. Now, seeing that the Joseph joseph melamine one is £50, it makes £79 seem a bit more reasonable.

A bread bin is a big commitment! Smile Will I still love it next year?

Well, my £60 nigella one, bought about 7 years ago, is now a crisp bin as we store bags of crisps in it :o I still love it and have the matching butter dish.

SoupDragon · 10/03/2015 14:07

this is the one I have but there is a slightly different design on the website you linked to.

SoupDragon · 10/03/2015 14:11

This is a similar looking one in enamelled metal.

ThefITCrowd · 10/03/2015 18:33

Well the Nigella one is now £70 so you're ahead of the game there. I really like that one!

Doubt this link will work as I am quite useless but I have this Asda one (I know it's certainly not in the same league as the Orla Kiely one) but it is quite similar and £££ less.

Hmmm knew the link wouldn't work. Sorry!

SoonToBeSix · 13/03/2015 21:02

Link does work

WipsGlitter · 13/03/2015 21:16

How big are these? I need one that takes a loaf plus maybe two other bread products. I'm sick balancing my baps on top!

Skyland · 14/03/2015 16:08

I have the orla kiely one. Ok size. Loaf of bread, pack of bagels and pancakes fit in nicely. Everyone admires it. Love it. But I love orla kiely stuff and I have the cake tins too.

AhDinnaeKen · 14/03/2015 16:14

I want a bread bin - have never had one and I have always wanted one. We have just used a big, deep, square tupperware type box to shove stuff in - messy looking though so it stays in the cupboard. I LOVE that Orla Kiela one and I don't think £79 is too much. If I was in the UK I'd buy it.

RulerLenska · 16/03/2015 01:42

Why do people have bread bins? What's wrong with the fridge / freezer? A bread bin is just more clutter.

SoupDragon · 16/03/2015 07:11

Bread is kind of hard to cut if you store it in the freezer.

SoupDragon · 16/03/2015 07:14

And it goes stale more quickly in the fridge.
