Get a cleaning company in to do it
I did this with mine and have never looked back

It sounds like it would be worth paying an oven cleaning company my SIL got her oven done when they moved house for about £40.

If you don't fancy that Oven Pride is brilliant, you paint it on, leave it overnight then wipe it off.

I've used it on the hob too, I paint it on, cover it with a plastic bag then leave the room with the window open for a hour or two.

Can you remove the knobs from the hob? Mine come off which makes it easier to clean.

youtube your make of oven and find out how to dismantle the oven door and see if you can access the inside of the glass (if you have two pieces of glass)
take knobs off
use a steam cleaner
if its really bad, you probably need chemicals

(personally i would get an oven cleaning co if it is that bad - or a new oven)

Oven Pride! It really works.. just read the instructions carefully as it feels like it could go horribly wrong otherwise.

Another vote for a pro. We had our filthy second hand range cleaned by an oven cleaning company and the results were very impressive. Once you're oven is gleaming again keep on top by wiping up spills with hot soapy water and an e cloth. Oven Pride is awesome but I would start using this as your regular cleaning (maybe twice a year) once you've had it sorted out properly.

I'm paying 40 quid for somebody to do mine this week. Life is too short for messing about with oven pride!

TheHoundsBitch · 03/03/2015 11:10

Oh, and after it's been cleaned get one of these. I've just chucked mine out after 3 1/2 years use.

Lifesalemon · 03/03/2015 11:17

Agree with TheHoundsBitch pay someone else, life's too short.

Once it's clean I put a laye of aluminium foil on the bottom of mine, bin it after a couple of weeks or when dirty and refresh.
