Deep / spring clean of bedrooms, how often?

I've spent today clearing out 2 bedrooms as I'm getting new carpets fitted tomorrow. I was shocked at the amounted dust collected under eg chest of drawers, bedside tables, book case.

Embarrassed at how bad it was. How often do you folks actually mice furniture as part of a cleaning routine?

I have to do it every 3-4 weeks or its horrendous. In fact its already horrendous with that amount of time (small children, very messy).

The boys rooms are easy as there is not much and it is light so i move everything weekly but our room has a huge triple wardrobe and 8 drawer that i could never move empty let alone full so are left. I hate to think what is behind / underneath!

My carpet man was pretty shocked I reckon at the state of the old bedroom carpet.

It's a kingsize bed which I can't move myself, plus a tall chest of drawers. I think I'll be more ruthless in future.

Not very often never I do pull the sofa out every so often.

I do it once a month as my son is allergic to dust mites.

I had a friend allergic to dust mites (severely allergic) so she vacuumed her mattress every week (and everything else too).
