I have a degenerative disease and I'm finding it harder and harder to get the Hoover out but thought with a small handheld vac I might manage better. It needs to be good as I have 3 long haired cats, a dog and 2 messy DS!thanks

The dyson is amazing, definitely worth seeing if it's light enough for you as it just makes the job quick and easy.

Hth.

I have a dyson animal and its very easy to use, although it does have weight to it - can you get to a shop and test?

I've just bought a Dyson DC44 animal which is lightweight and very good. Not cheap at £260. Lightweight but it does give me backache from stooping.
The other option is a Roomba (robot Hoover) the base model is £300 but you may need a more spendy one to get the animal hair. Could be a very worthwhile investment though.

G-Tech air ram. Brilliant ! Lightweight and picks up really well. I have two dogs. They do an animal one which wasn't out when I got mine. Can't recommend highly enough. I've got one for parents and pil.
