How would you wash something like this without the colours mixing into each other?

I never know what to do with items like this because you can't keep the whites away from colours. I'm put off getting them because I know what I will do to them, the white will turn grey and the navy will go all faded. I admit I usually just stick them in on 30/40 with whatever powder and softener is on offer at the time, but it's not as if I wash everything at 60.

Any tips, or are fabrics in this kind of print doomed from the start?

I wish I knew! Any that we buy tend to end up at bottom of washing basket as I worry about not only them running into themselves but into other things (or vice versa). I've been told though that if you put colour run sheets in with them it helps, but not tried it yet. (Wish I'd known that before I'd washed DD's jumper than looks just like that duvet cover.)

in have loads of stripy stuff and was them with white or light colours, even for dark stripes. all is well as long as you out a colour run sheet in - I sometimes put 2. no problems.

Colour run sheets are brilliant. If you put 2 in you should be fine.

Colour run sheets and keep temp low the first few times you wash.
