What does everyone with psoriasis use? I've just burnt out a vacuum that I just got last Christmas - :-(

what have you got now?

I would say animal ones should do the trick, like miele cat&dog, bag rather than bagless.

von haus 2400w cyclonic - real faff to clean filters on it also. Just want a vacuum that works well and don't have to clean filters every single time
I was looking at Mumsnet Best and the Miele one you mention is one of the best

The Miele final filter has several versions. They removable and all fit the same so you can swap them if you want. IIRC the Cat and Dog comes with the activated charcoal filter to absorb doggy smells, but you can swap it for a HEPA filter which catches even more ultrafine dust. The C&D comes complete with the turbo head that is a bit better for getting dirt out of carpets. It is quite expensive if you buy it as an accessory.

The new white or silver fleecy bags are very good for trapping fine dust anyway, and pack it tight so the bag lasts a long time. The bags have a flap that closes the hole when you take them out, so there is little risk of dust escaping, far cleaner than a bagless. I tie the bags into a plastic carrier anyway before taking them to the bin.

Definitely Miele. The filters need replacing but only once a year and you just throw them away instead of messing around cleaning them. The bags are also self sealing so no dust escapes

Pricey but worth it if you want a hygienic vacuum that will work well and last

We have a Miele. Had it two years now without a hiccup and two psoriasis sufferers in the house. Thankfully the condition seems to be in remission at the moment.

Thanks so much for the advice. I feel a wee journey to Debenhams to about to happen! :-)
