I'm looking at getting a one off deep clean done of my house.
DS1 is in hospital quite poorly , I'd like to arrive back at the end of next week to a house that is clean and fresh, I have some questions if anyone had any experience.

Have you had one done? What did they do?
Did it make a huge different?
Did they use their own equipment?
Mine is a small 3 bed, how much roughy is it likely to cost?
Did they need to come an asses it first?

Hope DS gets better soon, getting a deep clean will be lovely to come home to and one less worry for youSmile We have had this done before, she did everything top to bottom that I expected including washing down woodwork and cleaning windows. We have a 2 bed and I think she estimated 6 hrs but it took more like 7.5, I think it was £13 per hour. It's worth it if you can get it so you have a clean slate to start from.

I used mollymaids 3 years ago after I had my Windows done. It took 2 people the whole day and cOst £200. They did a good job but I had to specify what needed to be cleaned rather than them instinctively cleaning the room iyswim. So if I didn't ask them to wash the skirting board then they wouldn't do it. Also, they wouldn't move furniture to clean the back of it so they would vacuum around the front. Overall, the level of cleaning was good but not a complete deep clean.

I haven't had a deep clean but I've just got a cleaner. We have a small 3 bed house but only use 1 bedroom. So in 2 hours she cleaned:

  • the bedroom (hoovered and dusted)
  • the stairs (hoovered and wiped down wood work)
  • the frontroom (hoovered, moving sofas and bits and bobs, dusting)
  • the kitchen (wiped down the oven, work surfaces - she moved everything off and back again, front of fridge, mopped the floor)
  • bathroom - quick wipe around and mop.

I was massively impressed that she did so much in 2 hours. The house wasn't perfect and as we're still renovating there are some rooms without skirting boards and we haven't painted.

We had a quick inspection the week before, the agency lady took a list of what we wanted doing, I was really careful to check that I was being reasonable. They do one off cleans as well and I'd imagine they're really thorough based on last week.

I hope you're son is better soon. I think it would be great for you to get on top of everything. I just think that you'll need to specify what you want to make site your expectations are met.
