Washing Machine Repair Over 2 Weeks?

Is this quite normal? Engineer out today after 5 days since we reported problem. Can't get parts delivered and come out until next Thursday. I have a vomiting 2.8dd, no relatives near who can provide use of a machine, nearest launderette is open 8-6 and is 3 miles away (costs a bomb too), meaning either DH or I are going to have to take a day off work to do the flipping washing.

It just seems incredible to have to wait that long! Do I just have rather ridiculous standards and is this normal?

Unfortunately, this is deemed acceptable by appliance companies/retailers.

I had the same last year, 5 engineer visits and long story short after a bit of back and forth, Samsung collected the washer and refunded me.
